Katherine Underwood started classes with York School of Jewellery approximately 18 months ago. Influenced from an early age by her grandmother, she has always enjoyed doing creative activities which culminated in training and working in the clothing industry. This love of material and textures has been transposed onto her highly original jewellery and metal wear. The fabrics of lace, linen and wool are reproduced on the surface of the metal and then patinated and coloured in a variety of ways. The practical aspects of her original training leap to the fore as many of her pieces have functional applications. Katherine accepts private sewing, jewellery and metal wear commissions.
